Photography Festivals in the American South, Mid-Fall 2016

The days are getting shorter , the weather is getting cooler, and across the South we are gearing up for the second round of fall photography festivals.

FotoWeekDC is only a few weeks away, now, running from November 12th-20th, 2016 in Our Nation's Capitol, and you can find the full schedule of events on their website, here.

December will bring us PhotoNOLA, this year running from December 8th-11th, 2016. The full calendar of events is here.

Already open, in anticipation of PhotoNOLA,  is a major exhibition at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art of work by Mississippi-based photographer Maude Schuyler Clay (see image above), from her Mississippi History portfolio.

This show opened at the Ogden on October 1st, 2016, and will be up through January 15th, 2017.

An annual feature of PhotoNOLA is the show at the New Orleans Photo Alliance of the previous year's winner of the 2015 PhotoNOLA Review Prize, which for 2015 was Jeanine Michna-Bales (see image above).

So much to see, and to celebrate, in the world of Southern photography!
